200 incidents of child abuse and neglect are reported daily in the state of Georgia. Due to child abuse and neglect 19,466 children came through the foster care system during the fiscal year of 2016.

 

Child abuse is a subject I can personally relate to. My first volunteer job was as a Guardian Ad Litem. This is an individual who is appointed by the court to advocate for children who come into the court system as a result of alleged abuse or neglect.
